Vintage Fashion X Coachella 2013 X Deja Vu Vintage Finery

It's that time again when thousands of music lovers and artists come and visit the Coachella Valley for the Coachella Music & Arts Festival!  The three day party is held in the southern California desert 30 miles east of Palm Springs. As I mentioned earlier music lovers and artist's come together and appreciate their favorite bands all under the Coachella Valley sky. The three day music festival is known best for putting together hundreds of bands together, their unique and creative art installations and we cant forget Coachella's fashion scene, also known for So-Cal's fashion weekend! The fashion scene taken place at Coachella is a Bohemian relaxed look- a similar style from 60s & 70s fashion which you can find some great pieces from us! Vintage 1950's Women's Full Length Beaded Gown

      This gorgeous beaded gown belonged to Pony Sherrell. She was mostly known for her singing career - in New York, Hollywood and Las Vegas. She also was a songwriter with 2 movies that she co-wrote music and lyrics for: "So this is Paris" and "The Second Greatest Sex". Her first husband was famous singer/songwriter Gene Austen, who wrote "My Blue Heaven". Her second husband was millionaire financier Jess Metcalf, one of the first investors in Hilton Hotels.

In the last photo she is on the far right (in the dress!). Photo taken at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Beverly Hills c.1963. The dress was purchased and custom made at the hotel shop.

• Deep Pleating near the front of the skirt
• Was inherited by a Hollywood starlet, which was used in many of her performances & gigs.
